I have a coffee table and two end tables
with a landscape carved top, covered by glass, they were created for my mother and her friend while living in Germany by D.B.G.M. It was between 63 and 67, One was carved in a blond wood and the other in a dark wood to match the ladies furniture. The were carved from photos the ladies had taken, and then the photos returned to the ladies so they would be the orignal and only carvings. Does anyone know how much a set of these table's would be worth now?

45-50 years ago. I would like to find any information on it if possible.
And about fixing it, it does not stay running, and I think it has parts missing it does not coo coo or chime.
Inside the clock has Made In Germany
and 25 and it has an emblem with a tree
and EGULA inthe emblem I can't tell what
other letter is in front of the E.
It also has ESCHMECKENBECHER on it.
Can a person get a diagram on the inside
to see what is missing? and what the clock is worth?

Dear customers!
It would be very easy for us, to delete all negative inputs from our guestbook. But we will not do that, because we want to do our job seriously.
In the last few years we have shipped more then 1000 clocks worldwide, the most to USA. We always test our handmade clocks serioulsy befor shipping. Nevertheless, it could happen in some cases (perhaps on a blow during shipping), that something with the clock is not working well. In all these cases, we try to solve the problem either with remote maintenance, or if this is not possible, we will repair the clock. If this also is not possible, we will refund the paid amount, as soon as the defective clocks arrives back in our factory.
We never intend to insult our customers. But English is not our native language and therefore it could happen, that we verbalize sometimes a little mistakable. In all these cases, I will apoligize me herewith. Please accept my apologies.

Also it cookoo`s about 2 min after the hour. How do I go about fixing this problem and how do I go about getting the wing fixed?

I bought one of your Black Forest Hunters Cuckoo Clocks in 1973 for my mother when I lived in Germany. The name E Schmeckenbecher is on the inside of the clock and the number GM 1649000/1674539 (left side of movement) and also the number GM 1704075/1705294 (on the right side of the movement). There is also the number 34/1/73 in the center of the movement. The clock is missing the pendulum, one of the black clips that holds the deer head assembly on the clock, and the removeable back cover of the clock is also missing. I would like to replace these parts if possible. The clock is in excellent condition. Please let me know if you can supply the parts. Thank you and Merry Christmas.

I was born in germany and even though I was adopted by an American couple they kept my german heritage very much alive and these clocks were one of the ways they managed it. I miss hearing them. Now that I have kids of my own I want them to have many fond memories to...

I own several Cuckoo Clocks. Two are very old and one that is a Chalet style is abit newer. One of the older ones keeps perfekt time but the Cuckoo doesn't always correspond with the Hour. But that doesn't bother me. The other old Clock is a smaller Cuckoo Clock and also keeps perfekt time. It also Cuckoo's each hour and also on the half hour. Works great.
My Chalet that is from Schwarzwald or in English known as the Black Forest is from the 1980's. It keeps perfekt time and the Cuckoo works great. Also on the Hour after the Cuckoo pops out to say Hello, the Dancers dance around the house and its so neat.
German Clocks are built so well that they just go on working. Like most German built Items from Cars to Electronics.
Today someone was selling an awesome Clock on Ebay's Auction. The Clock is in perfekt shape. Anyways it was selling so cheap that I contacted the Owner and the Seller holding the Auction to alert him/her of the collectabillity of these Items.
I have so many German Clocks from Anniversary style Dome Clocks to Mantel Clocks. All of them keep great time.
I would recommend a German Cuckoo Clock to anyone who is looking for a unique Time Piece that is fun and will bring years of enjoyment.

Wishing everyone on this Site all the best and may God Bring Peace to the World and put an End to War....

We bought a cuckoo clock when stationed in Germany during the 90s.... It ran fine for 10years then stopped. Last resort I sprayed inside the works from underneath with an air canister. Tried it again and its been running fine now for the past 3 months. Maybe a dust build up on some part inside. Right now I am trying to get the chimes of another clock we got the same place same year. A Dold Grandfather clock to chime again after relocation. Wish me luck.

I have a an older hunter-style cuckoo clock with a Regula movement which is stamped with the name E. Schmeckenbecher. The clock is about 14" tall, the case is painted with a brown paint (rather than the polished/laquer look seen on cuckoo clocks today), the deer's head is some kind of very heavy plastic, the dial says W-Germany, and the back is stamped with 9-69. I know the clock is more than 30 years old, but I'd really like to know how old. Does anybody out there know when this clock would have been made, and what value (if any other than sentimental) it might have? If you know anything about it please e-mail me. Thanks!

I own one of your coo coo clocks, the birds and leaves (1 day wind) that my daughter had given me as a gift in 1992, while she was living in Germany. One of the chains has been broken and I want so dearly to have it fixed. Would you be so kind as to let me know if there is any repair shops in Minnesota that I could bring it to? Thank you so much, I do enjoy the beautiful work that is put into your clocks.

I am looking for information on a cuckoo clock that I recieved from my mother. It is a one day musical and on the front it has a hole for the bird (no door)with plants beneath it, three lumber jacks on a balcony (two of them are sawing a log and the other chops wood), a water wheel on the right side, a pine tree with a house on the left and a stream on the right of the lower face plate. On the rear access door it has 8-69 West Germany stamped in the wood and a label with No. 7317 Made in West Germany (9). As for the clock mechanism, it has E. Schmeckenbecher, G.M. 1884288 1892176, The # 25, Made in West GermanyRegula. There are three pine cone weights which I am not sure if they are the correct one's. They are 420ET, 320ET and the third has no markings, but is the same size as the 320ET. I have started restoration and am getting ready to clean and oil the clock works. If you have any advise on this subject please include it in your reply. Thank you.

Just bought an E Schmeckenbecher cuckoo clock. It has 8-78 carved on the back, on the inside it is stamped Regula, GM 1886288 and below 1892176, 25-78, and ESCHMECKENBECHER. It has a round window with a cukoo bird (no door, two men sawing a log (with seconds movement), a water wheel and a man chopping wood, which play on the hour and half hour. Three iron weights marked ED320, and a plastic adjustable pendulum. I can't tell whether it plays the same tune on the hour or half hour, I counted the "finger" on the music box and it seems to be a 22 note. Can you tell me anything about this clock? I'd like to know some history, specifics, how to take care of it, app value, where it was made, what it is called, any information will be appreciated. Thank you. PS. I totally love my cuckoo clock!

I was given a coocoo clock that has an owl with red eyes at top and a bunch of grapes with leaves too. The pinecone weights are missing. Where can I get the weights; and how would I know the correct size and weight? Or are they all alike?

Just want you to know that I purchased a cuckoo clock for my parents for Xmas
and had a minor problem after two months.I contacted Mr.Hans-Georg Scheurer who could'nt have been more helpful. Not only did he send me a new cuckoo clock but allowed me to keep the defective clock until the new one arrived. Its actions like this that separate the truly customer service minded companies from all the rest.I certainly will recommend anyone who is interested in purchasing a cuckoo clock to purchase one from the Black-Forest Shop.

Sincerely
Tony & Jeanne Midea - Truly Satisfied Customers.

It is a one day clock. Is this movement still available? Also when they give the dimensions of a cuckoo clock are they including the pendulium or just the top of the deers horns to the bottom of the leaves? Thank you,Juan

I love my clock. I purchased it in the Black Forest about 6 yr ago. I carried it back to Houston, Texas myself. I also heard a real cuckoo call while I was there! Germany is a beautiful, clean place. It appears Germans don't care for Americans much! My father immigrated to this country from Russia.
Russia offered land to German farmers, and after several years, they heard the Govt planned to take the land back. His family fled to the Dakotas here in the U.S. They finally settled in Texas and became dairy farmers. My father had a second grade education. I hope you have found some interest in my story. I love telling it. I am very proud of my father and my German heritage. However, because of Hitler, he was afraid to teach his children his language!

I am the proud owner of a Cuckoo Clock, which I purchased from this site. I recieved it in fine condition. It is an exact copy of the picture of the clock that I chose. I am MOST pleased with my purchase. During the process of buying this clock and waiting for it to arrive I was helped by the staff as they answered several of my emails. I would HIGHLY recommend this company to anyone that reads this. I will also recommend this company to all of my friends.

I recently purchased the 8MT-4 mini cuckoo clock. Before and after purchase Herr Scheurer was exceptionally prompt in answering every email I sent to him. The clock arrived in fine condition in only about two weeks after placing my order using standard shipping. The workmanship of this clock is wonderful especially given the inexpensive price. Dear Mr. Scheurer,
We are impressed with the ease of ordering a clock by
internet from you. Your strong points are that you
maintain good customer relations by email. All of our
concerns, questions, changes, etc. were answered very
rapidly by you. Dealing with a person takes the fear
out of using the impersonal internet.
Of course there is no need to mention that the clock
is a delight, not only to look at but to watch. The
carved bird is exceptionally realistic. Actually, the
clock was a gift for my mother but now I don't think I
want to give it up.

has 3 weights, a quarter hour quale and a cockoo on the hour and the 3 rd weight is for the clock. It has a big
life size rabit on the left side and a pheasent on the right side. My clock man said he thinks the clock is 100 years old or older. Do you know who might have made the clock or was there a company back then that made this big clock? Any help you could give me would be appreciated. Thank you and I can't waite to visit the Black Forest area and see this rich place in history and have some schnitzal.

Thank you,

Bob McGraw

We received a cuckoo clock from relatives of ours in Germany for a Wedding Present. We wanted something authentic and a keepsake from my mother-in-laws homeland. We love it. Everyone has commented on it. In fact friends of ours are getting married next month and their brother wants to purchase one for them. My husband searched the internet and found your site. We were surprised to realize that it was the same maker of the one we received last year. We have connected our friend's brother to your site to maybe purchase one. It is beautiful. We will cherish it forever.

I was in Frankfurt, Germany last month. My first time there. I purchased a Black Forest original Kuckucksuhr (Coo Coo Clock. Unfortunately, all the directions were in German only. I have understood the pictures, and seem to have it hung properly. However, I cannot make it continue to run. If I remove the wooden part that hangs from the wire pendelum, it runs ok, but to fast. When I hang the pendelum, it runs for about a minute and stops. I have slid the "leaf" up and down the wooden peg, but with no good results. Can you help me?
Thank you.

I just want to let everyone know that I ordered and just received a Cuckoo-Clock from this great site! It came in perfect condition and only took three weeks to get. My wife was pleasantly surprised for her birthday, and now we have a genuine Black Forest Cockoo-Clock to put up in our house, and saved money by buying direct. So whoever reads this, don't hesitate to order through this site.
